Radionics smoke and heat detectors have two components: the detector base and the detector head. The bases are permanently attached and wired to backboxes. The interchangeable heads quickly detach for replacement and cleaning without affecting the circuit wiring.
The D282 24 V DC Photoelectric Smoke Detector Head uses and LED light source and a silicon photo diode to measure light reflected from particulates in a detection chamber. After two consecutive measurements exceeding the basic level, the unit signals an alarm condition.
The detection chamber, designed for reliable smoke entry characteristics, is protected by a micro-fine insect screen to minimize nuisance alarms.
