The D321 Analog Detector Base is used with Radionics analog smoke and heat detector heads. It is compatible with the:
D322 Analog Heat Detector
D323 Analog Photoelectric Smoke Head
D3424 Analog Ionization Smoke Head
The D321 can be configured in either a Class "A" (four-wire) or a Class "B" (two-wire analog polling circuit connected to the Radionics D9024 or D10024 Fire Alarm Control Panels.
In these systems the circuit typically runs on 18 gauge wire and connects to a Radionics D9067 Polling Circuit Module.
Analog device polling circuits in these systems can be in excess of 3,250 feet in length and will support up to 126 device addresses.
The D321 has an LED that flashed every time the device is polled (every 6.9 seconds) and "latched on" red when the device goes into alarm condition.
A tamper-screw locks the detector head to the base. Loosen the screw and turn the detector head 1/4 turn counter-clockwise to detach it from the base for cleaning, service, or replacement. Removal of the head from an active poling circuit initiates a trouble signal but does not interrupt the circuit.
