The D500 Series horns and combined horn/strobes are two-wire wall-mounted notification appliances. The horns in these devices provide, depending on the jumper setting, either a continuous horn or a temporal code 3 pattern. Installed in a system using the D411 two-wire Single Circuit Synchronization Module or the D412 Dual Circuit Synchronization Module, they provide synchronized Code 3 horn.
The D500 Series horn/strobes combine the continuous horn or a temporal code 3 pattern with a random strobe when connected directly to a Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP) or a synchronized strobe when connected through a synchronized module.
These devices use either filtered DC or unfiltered Full Wave Rectified input voltage. All inputs are polarized.
Device connection is through in-out wiring terminals that accept two wires, 12 to 18 AWG, at each screw terminal.
Two-wire circuitry reduces the number of circuits connected to the FACP resulting in lower material and labor costs for installation. The use of existing two-wire circuits reduces costs for upgrading existing building to meet ADA requirements.
All the combines horn/strobe devices in this series have sound levels, selectable in the field by jumper, of 90, 95, or 99 dB, measured at 10 feet.
Strobe intensity ranges from 15 to 110 cd. Strobes meet ADA requirements of one flash per second from 20-31 V (24 V) or 12 to 15.6 V (12 V).
