The Alón Circe provides state of the art sound quality in a floor standing three-way configuration. The speaker encompasses all the Alón open baffle technology in a new cosmetic design. This no-compromise three-way design uses only premium cobalt (Alnico) magnet systems for all the drivers, to eliminate driver induced distortions caused by conventional magnet systems that set a definite limit on transparency, harmonic structure and the correct reproduction of simultaneous complex tonal colors. The Alón Circe is a very advanced loudspeaker and is capable of resolving musical nuance, even at the extreme low frequency end of the audible spectrum. The overall effect is to produce a very large sound stage with natural dynamics where the sounds are initiated in a natural way so that music will gradually expand to fill the room.
For the low frequency system, Circe utilizes the same 10" driver with Alnico magnet used in the Phalanx system. The sealed infinite baffle system is very inert for low coloration, and utilizes strategically placed steel braces in addition to the MDF braces and double layer damping pads. The net result is a bass system with outstanding transparency, pitch definition and three-dimensional reproduction down to 20 Hz.
The mid range driver is our premium 5¼ inch cast frame tri-laminate cone driver fitted with a powerful Alnico magnet system. The driver operates on a newly designed small open baffle in dipole mode for the complete elimination of mid-band enclosure resonances. This results in a midrange quality with a unique combination of clarity, fullness, openness and perfect harmonic structure.
The high frequency system utilizes the exotic dynamic dipole dome transducer originally developed for the Phalanx system. This 1-inch diameter aluminum alloy diaphragm is powered by twin cobalt (Alnico) ring magnets for the purest dynamic response possible. This transducer covers the range from 3500 Hz to 25 kHz without the typical colorations and musical distortions that are so common. The pole piece of this transducer is specially constructed to allow unimpeded rear wave propagation for true dipole operation.
