The CNXRMC is a Cresnet room solution box for remote device control of IR/RS-232 device, or as a companion product for the CNX-PVID8 video switcher/distribution system. Combined with a CNX-PVID8, one CNXRMC provides a solution for distributing video and control with standard CAT5 cabling.
With a CNXRMC located in each room as a mini-switcher, you can choose any video source from the head end and display it on the monitor or projector in that room. The CNXRMC breaks out the base-band video signals fed from the PVID8 via the CAT5 cable. These signals can include high-definition Component video and digital audio, S-Video and/or Composite video and digital audio.
The CNXRMC also functions as a Cresnet room control interface to local AV and other devices such as TVs, Projectors, VCRs, and DVD players using any Crestron touchpanel or pushbutton control panel. One bi-directional RS-232 and four IR ports are provided. A current sensor input accepts power status feedback from the optional CNXRMCS current sensor (available separately). In addition, a powered IR input allows connection of the optional CNXRMIRD IR sensor (available separately) to receive IR commands from any standard universal remote control, which may be programmed to control any device connected to the Cresnet system.
